For a period of time in the late 19th Century, the largest cultivated farm in the world was managed by Oliver Dalrymple in Dakota Territory. Now, 150 years later, former North Dakota Governor Jack Dalrymple has gathered photographs and information from his family archives about his great-grandfather and the legendary Dalrymple Bonanza Farm in the Red River Valley.

As the first and largest of the Bonanza farmers, Oliver Dalrymple was recognized far and wide as the face of the booming years of settlement in the Upper Midwest. His personal story of entrepreneurship is interwoven with the story of early agriculture in North Dakota.
