Native-Assembled Arrowhead Necklace
Native American hunters relied on arrowheads such as this to obtain the necessities of everyday life. When shot skillfully from a bow, an arrowhead would fell animals such as deer, rabbits, and caribou. A successful hunt provided meat for food, and hides for clothing and shelter.
This arrowhead necklace was assembled from non-Native components by Karen Mitten (Cayuga 435), an Iroquoian artist in upstate New York.
