You will need:

Browned & drained ground beef

Water

Bay leaf (optional)

Salt & pepper

4 qt kettle

 

1.5 hrs of prep and prepare

Variations:  Add 1 (16oz) can of tomatoes or 2 cups fresh tomatoes.  If you like it spicey add rotel.  Also, you can shorten the cook time by 10-30minutes if you want the barley a little firmer as I do.
